A Nuvvya product · iPhone and iPad

The maths behind a priced round, without a spreadsheet.

CalcVC is a private calculator for a priced venture round, bound returns, and one optional next round. Optional modules add share counts, one option pool, one SAFE, years and IRR, a fund sketch, a one-class preference, and an ownership split. Everything is calculated on your device.

Free on the App Store

CalcVC is a calculation and educational tool. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax, or professional advice, and a calculated result is not a prediction or a guarantee of any investment outcome.

Illustrative scenario

Pre-money valuation $8,000,000.00
Investment $2,000,000.00
Post-money valuation $10,000,000.00
Investor ownership 20.00%
Existing-holder dilution 20.00%

Invented figures shown to illustrate the arithmetic. Not a real company, a real financing, market data, a recommendation, or a forecast.

What it calculates

Inputs
Pre-money valuation Required
Investment amount One new-investor cheque
Currency label Display only, default USD
Exit equity value Optional
Outputs
Post-money valuation Always
Investor ownership % Always
Existing-holder dilution % Always
Exit proceeds Only with an exit value
MOIC Only with an exit value

The model is percentage-based and deterministic. Pre-money plus investment gives post-money; the investment’s share of post-money gives ownership. An expandable Show maths panel in the app states the formula and the current result in plain language, so nothing is a black box.

Post-money valuation
post-money = pre-money + investment
Investor ownership
ownership = investment ÷ post-money
Existing-holder dilution (aggregate pool, from 100%)
dilution = ownership
Exit proceeds (only when an exit value is entered)
proceeds = ownership × exit equity value
MOIC (only when an exit value is entered)
MOIC = proceeds ÷ investment

In the app

The CalcVC app icon: a leather square with a champagne-metal V, a rising line and a small calculator.

CalcVC for iPhone and iPad The iOS app icon. The calculator itself is the app; this site describes it.

  • Calculator first. The app opens on the calculator. No onboarding carousel, no account, no sign-in.
  • Named scenarios. Create, rename, update, duplicate and delete scenarios, stored on that device.
  • Currency labels. USD, EUR, GBP, INR, CHF, CAD, AUD, SGD, AED and JPY. Labels only — no exchange-rate conversion.
  • Show maths. Expand any result to see the formula and how the current numbers produce it.
  • Share when you choose. A native share sheet sends a scenario summary as text or a summary card — only when you tap share.
  • Native and adaptive. iPhone and iPad, system light and dark, free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
05

Private by construction

CalcVC has no account system and no server behind the calculator. Your inputs are entered, calculated and stored on your device.

Read the full privacy policy.

  • No account, no registration, no sign-in.
  • No Nuvvya server receives your figures.
  • The core calculator works offline.
  • No advertising and no third-party tracking.
  • Scenarios are saved on that device only. There is no iCloud sync or backup, so scenarios will not automatically transfer to another device.
06

What it deliberately does not do

Optional modules each solve their own equations. Empty modules stay inactive and do not change the priced round. The boundary is still explicit.

  • No multiple SAFEs.
  • No multiple preferred classes.
  • No fees, taxes, or foreign exchange.
  • No per-person cap table or founder model.
  • No web calculator — the calculator is the iOS app.
  • No currency conversion. A currency choice is a label only.
  • IRR, MOIC, and TVPI rearrange the numbers you entered. They are not predictions.
  • Not a cap-table manager, portfolio tracker, forecasting tool, advisory service, or advice product.
